Purpose
This policy outlines the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) writing tools in the creation, editing, and publication of content by the Edgewater Gazette. It ensures transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in our editorial practices.
Scope
This policy applies to all staff, contributors, freelancers, and guest writers who use AI tools to assist in writing, editing, or generating content for print or digital platforms.
Acceptable Use

Editorial Assistance: AI tools may be used for brainstorming, outlining, grammar correction, summarization, and style refinement.

Content Generation: AI-generated content may be used for routine tasks (e.g., weather blurbs, stock summaries) but must be reviewed and approved by a human editor before publication.

Attribution: Any article or section substantially generated by AI must be disclosed with a note indicating AI assistance.
Prohibited Use
